If you have not alerady been there, I recommend that you visit my Music Theory Section. Maybe you will find out that you do not need a book after all.

The majority of what is written on music theory is written for keyboard. It easier to understand theory if you apply it to a keyboard, and it is not without resason that many muisc schools requires that you have piano as a second instrument if it is not you main instrument. I have tried to pick books that either applies theory specifically to guitar, or books that seems to be "instrument neutral".
