AC/DC was formed in 1973 in Australia by guitarist Malcolm Young, Angus Brother, after the Velvet Underground, his former band, collapsed. The band quickly became famous in Australia with their first two albums (High Volatge and T.N.T). They had their commercial breakthrough in the US with Let There Be Rock in 1977. Their following albums were a success. They sold several million copies of the album Highway To Hell. In 1980, after Bon Scott was found dead in his car, Brian Johnson joined the band, and they recorded Back to Black. 12 million copies were sold all around the world. Up to the year 1995, the band sold more than 80 million copies with some albums such as For Those About to Rock We Salute You and The Razor's Edge. Their two last albums Ballbreaker, in 1995 and Stiff Upper Lip in 2000 were also a success. When the band was formed, Angus was only 15 years old and was told by his sister to keep his school uniform on the stage. He has never taken it off and it became the AC/DC trademark.
