Davey Graham is probably one of the most influential "unknown" guitarists. Even his name is a bit mystique: I have seen it spelled both Davy and Davey, and I do not know what is correct. It does not help to look at his records, because you find them under both names. When it comes to his influence, it should be enough to mention that he was the one who "invented" the DADGAD tuning. Together with people like John Renbourn, Bert Jansch and Martin Carthy he dominated the London Folk Scene in the 60's. He mixes folk-, blues and jazz influences, and it comes out as a highly personal style. More recently he has been playing a lot of Irish folk-music.
