Vi skal ta en ny titt på «See See Rider». Denne gangen er arrangementet løselig basert på Mississippi John Hurts versjon.

I dette arrangementet har vi ikke lenger en monoton bass. Nå går bassen fra streng til streng, slik at vi får en alternerende bass. Men fortsatt er det et bass-anslag for hvert taktslag. Dette gir en lettere og mer «dansende» klang. Foruten hos Mississippi John Hurts, kan du blant annet høre denne spillestilen hos Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Blake og Blind Boy Fuller.

Som nevnt er arrangementet nedenfor basert på Mississippi John Hurts, men hvis du sammenligner med hans versjon, så vær oppmerksom på at han spilte i normal stemming.

En slik bass er grunnlaget for mange fingerspillteknikker. Du kan høre den omtalt som «Clawhammer». Blant country-gitarister kalles den gjerne for «Travis-picking» etter gitaristen Merle Travis. Chet Atkins spiller også ofte i denne stilen.
